final assesment

SORRY MR NEUF MY PHONE DIED WHEN I TRIED TO PUBLISH IT

 1) Participation:
My Participation during our gym block has improved so much, way more than last year. I love this pillar/section of the course because its so easy to participate, even when i don't have to i still chose to, and gym has come to be one of my favourite classes. I have always been committed to showing up on time to class with p.e strip and a positive attitude ready to take on the activity and challenges coming my way. I have never forgotten gym strip, or skipped a class, there was only 2 times I have sat out or have been excused due to sickness and doctors appointments.  I definitely put my best attitude towards participating and give my full potential whether its regular activites or fitness. There is no reason not to try and i think i show that in my participation. I love organising activities and taking part as well. I love participating and trying to get people involved in gym and try my best aswell because gym is not an individual activity. Its a learning environment and its better to work with others

2) Social Responsibility and Contribution to the class:
again i think i have improved so much compared to last year. I think this because it was our turn to lead the class being one of the older groups. this year i have stepped up to the plate to take charge and help set up or run activities, help people voice their choices in what they want to do in gym and pitch some ideas myself. I say this because sometimes when nobody takes initiative then where would gym class be, probably just people standing around. I didn't do it alone but with the help of my peers, gathering people to play games and run them ourselves, and also making sure each game was fair was something that we did at first and then it kind of became a subconcious habit. I have always encouraged my peers in our block and helped them with things they weren't to sure of whether it was rules or helping run the game, even where things go. In the last reflection i say the words "im improving social responsibility" and i think this year was the year that i did it and i definitely think that it was time for me to move past working on it to almost mastering social responsibilty.

3) Healthy Living:
My fitness has improved over this year, and i noticed some changes at healthy living too. In our house we cut back on foods and started going on weekly hikes, also started things like friendly competitions in our house. But whos kidding it was always competitive haha. I think everything in healthy living has improved except my sleeping habits.... whoops.

evidence of healthy living

4) Digital Portfolio and Reflective skills:
I have posted 27 posts during the whole year, which is better than last year. I will admit i was on top of it all but toward the end it started lacking, but i think for a summary of this year, it was pretty good which is not bad considering a majority of the posts are long and include some pictures and evidence. Things about observations and how i can improve as a leader, student and dancer/ athlete.

This year was eventful and i came across many challenges. Over all I think that in this class based on the progress, physical participation, healthy living and blog I deserve an A. but around 90% percent.

Final Fitness testing

At the start of this, i was at the nirm but the worst kinda. Also I think from the first result to the last i have im proved so much, i have gotten my beep test up to a level higher than last year and put in more work with pushups improved one with plank and also board touches. my last results were this
My middle test was great and i am proud of that everything else was pretty much the same or it was better except the beep test. However i think this beep test alone has even showed improvement It wasnt the best but i have moved up from the first time i did the test this year and this one beat my best last year, I think that this definitely shows my cardiovascular improvement. here are some action shots.

Final Buddy Post

So from all the times we did our buddy days, i learned more and more about ways to teach and thats its not that easy, I also learned a lot about how my buddies brain works, and also how kids younger than me see the world today.

Through out this whole process it was was easier at times to be a roll model but sometimes hard because i have never really thought about teaching someone to use a lacrosse stick one step at a time and tell them how to move their limbs and do movements.

I know that my buddy is definitely a runner and had an easier time and a more engaging time when he played the tagging games, but sometimes when hitting the ball with a bat and using the lacrosse stick he was not as engaged. Right off of the bat I think that my buddy and i clicked in the sense off he loves to learn and loves english and loves cartoons and creativity, so i used ways to teach my buddy in creative ways he would understand. I learned about my buddy and the class he is in and how they take so much interest in the little things, and how much creativity and imagination they have. I think i had under estimated them at first but once i got to see how they worked it was reassuring that we were not the only ones still getting used to meeting new people.

the very last day our class went to their classroom to see the work they do and talk to them about grade 5. It was pretty awesome, mr. neuf wasnt there and neither was my buddy. but i got a card from him and it was adorable because we always have talks about super hereos and tv characters and he drew me that stuff on my card. For the rest of the buddies We talked to the buddies and then went out on to he field and i explained a variation of rock paper scissors and it was clear that they were engaged and loved to play. in the moment it was clear we were all clmfortable with ourselves!

Fitness

So it has been undoubtly a long time since i posted about fitness, but since we have had buddies on fridays and usually moss tuesdays things have been weird. The last two fitness activities we have done were cardio training intervals and yoga.
I'll write this post by comparing and contrasting each activity.
for cardio we were told that we should get into groups of 3-5 based off of beep test and do intervals with them our group (grace, avani and i) chose to do 2 minutes of runnin one of walking. we thought we were going to do 3 minutes but we changed our minds. During the fitness we realized that if we would have gone up to 3 minutes of running then are pace would be inconsistent, so at least with two minutes we could run at the same speed each time. We were glad that we accomplished what we did and went around the track many times.

The power yoga was well tiring, the small gym was filled with people willing to do power yoga, but once we got in there really only the girls were working out, with the exception of miggy from our class. it was hard, to keep balance and composure especially all things that have to do with arms. I was definitely feeling a sweat and the next day my arms were SORE.  Both exercises were great, but one worked more of a challenge which was cardio, the other one all though made me sweat i felt more comfortable with doing.

Buddies Update

I know I haven't posted in a long time. I am so sorry I thought it would be cool to compare my two last buddy sessions and tell you what happened, how my buddy works and operates and strategies i used to help my buddy learn and grow.

modified baseball:
My buddy along with Calista, Avani, Ruth their buddies and idk who else sorry :S ....  had got into a group to modified baseball. The buddies were being good sports and they learned to play the game fairly quickly, we soon added challenges before sitting down and passing the ball like when you catch the ball you do 5 jumping jacks or sit down right away. We also talked strategies to our buddies and talking about worked and didn't. We did several trials and found that spreading out when the batter hits it and coming in when passing the ball was easier. I knew that my buddy had a teachers aid but when with my buddy i never felt like he needed it. During this game i saw some of the trouble he was having. During the game it was noticeable that he struggled to hold the bat and hit it, but also throwing and catching was a little delayed. As the game progressed i helped him by adjusting how he threw and giving him examples and definitely by encouraging him. It really helped that his peers were super supportive as well because you could tell he was getting more comfortable with the idea of all of it, and that the physical activity was good.  He scored a few points and was fast, but sometimes the good teamwork of the out fielders beat him to it.

Lacrosse:
This is a game that i love playing, especially in gym class, and I loved the idea of us teaching it to our buddies. This activity my buddy was on a team with all boy buddies, I could already tell it would be a fast paced game. The gr 10. buddies on our team were Kyle, Zauq, Abhishek and idk if there were any others...sorry. For this when we did a bit of drills i noticed my buddy had a bit of trouble with the stick and had trouble throwing and catching, but when it came to running he would run at free will... even if it was in the wrong way... LOL. My buddy learned to play and handle the stick better towards the end of the game which is good. Good job to the other team and buddies who dominated though!

From both activities and the ones in the past, personally I think my buddy is a runner. By that i mean he loves running and the excitement and adrenaline with it. No wonder he loved the chariot game and the tag game (he also really liked stealing pinnies from other kids).

Parent Project Midterm by Papa Garcia

DIGITAL PORTFOLIO

1) Have you read your son/daughters blog?
Yes, i've read my daughters blog.

Was there anything that surprised you or stood out immediately?
yes, i never thought my daughter did such a good job at organizing activities and taking charge. I never thought taking p.e class is as complicated as it was before, like running around the pond,or capture the flag or even blogging.

What was your favourite part about reading his/her reflections?
my favourite part about reading her reflections is when I saw that she was doing great at working with friends, and getting comments from her teacher. I'm pretty sure he is going in the right direction and setting a good goal for her in her life.

What did you learn about your son/daughter that you didn't know before reading the blog?
i didn't know she knew that much sports and that she liked lacrosse.  I thought she usually stuck to basketball and volleyball and music.

What part of your child's growth/personality has been reaffirmed for you?
that she is beginning to be an organized person and running games, starting to make more goals, and stepping up, and improving on her beep test. She is maturing.

What is missing in the blog that you think s/he should include for the teacher or peers?
i don't think her blog is missing a lot, she should maybe just add more about her interests that make her happy, while trying to live healthy.  she also mentioned in her reflection that she sometimes comments on peoples blogs, she should comment more.

If you were evaluating him/her on his/her blogging efforts, what would you say?
it is an excellent blog, she has a lot to say about her fitness program and her personal fitness. from her blog you can tell she works really hard and I agree with her teacher that she needs to rest, she needs to stop staying up late.

What would you give him/her out of 25? How did you come up with that number?
i would give her a 22 because it is a good blog and good topic, she talks about what she did wrong and how she helped. she also has pictures and videos. i think that she can improve because no one is perfect so she doesn't get a 25.

HEALTHY LIVING:

2) What do you notice about your child's health choices outside of school?

she frequently goes to our club house to work out or dance, she has always liked vegetables so she eats healthy a lot.

What activity and or diet choices does s/he make on their own?
working out, cutting down on rice, and joining her mom and her brother and sister in a healthy competition.

What exercise/eating choices are encouraged buy the family/household?
her mother likes to walk, and we recently bought 4 bikes so we can go biking, in the summer we like to go hiking. for eating i make a lot of vegetables and meat not a lot of pasta or carbohydrates.

Did you see any evidence of this in his/her blog? What is missing that should be included?
Yes i saw pictures of her salad and also her talking about eating healthier and drinking more water. I don't think there is a lot that is missing and should be included.

What improvements do you think your child could/should make to further his/her understanding and participation in his/her own health?
eat less junk food, and eat healthier foods. Sleep early and take care of her well being more often.

What things can you as parent do to push this learning/practice?
proper advice on getting more rest, and making sure she goes to sleep.

If you were to evaluate your son/daughter on their progress towards personal healthy life choices what would you say?
I'm very well satisfied, and hope she continues to get in shape and live healthier because it will help her in the near future.

What mark would you give them out of 25 for his/her efforts and demonstration of those efforts in the blog?
How did you come up with that number?
23 because she talks about liking working out and to likes it at home, she also eats healthy and talks about it too. 2 points off because she can blog more and sleep earlier.

Fatness Friday?

   FATNESS FRIDAY
Our class hasn't done fitness in a long time, which honestly sucks. However we got a chance to get back to the grind since our buddies were unavailable today. Even though we haven't done fitness in long we still set the tone for p.3 along with some of petersons class and the super fit class. All three of our classes were on one wall going the long way. I won't lie at first I was sure I was gonna completely quit and not be in the mood, however Nicole and I decided to workout together because we knew we could both have fun but manage to work a major sweat.
In addition to that we did locomotion beside the super fit 12 boys and honestly they looked like this was a warm up to them it was insane. While I was over there sweating with the red face and secretly dying they were nonchalantly doing the exercises. Although It was tiring I managed to do the activities beside them and at least keep up with them, i don't think they noticed though. Mr. P came up to nicole and I and told us we were doing great and working up a crazy sweat especially because our faces were red, Ms Phillips also said that I did good on the whole creativity aspect, and keeping myself on track.
During the beginning I helped my peers by notifying them what activity was next, and I knew that no one could read the board from far ways so I decided to go up and check.

In the end it felt good to be back and to know that I managed to do the activities without leaving for water, and pushing myself. I'm also proud of today for the fact that I ate completely healthy and had granola, apple, lots of water, and some fruit for breakfast, also because I turned down the chance to get a ride to school so I can walk, I also walked home too (: Now time to rest up.

I WILL ADD PICTURES LATER.

Double class Dragon Tails

on wednesday both classes had gotten together to play a fun, but simultaneously competitive game of dragon tails.
We haven't played against each other since speed ball which we won, but however the time around we lost. Good effort to our band class and good job to the other class too! Y'all deserved it. This didn't go well as for the planning strategies because we had two very different groups of people in our band class, there were some, mostly girls who tried proposing plans for defence or to sneak the ball to the other side and score. It was a tight game until the end I think only because too many opinions were voiced but only few were heard. The two groups when in the huddle were the people all trying to talk and the people who just want to run for it. I won't lie the running for it did work (thanks Kyle) but the way people weren't listening to each other made it frustrating. It came to the point were we constantly reminding each other to be quiet, and I wanted to step in and take charge but decided to let others voice their opinions and try to take charge (i don't know if this was a good thing or not) In the change room we talked to each other (the girls) and the other girls in the change room, some mentioned that it was apparent that our class was a little frustrated and took a lot of time. I think individuals in our class were disappointed and frustrated because there was a lack of communication, and people felt like every time there was a trial and error they would put out their idea for it only to be shot down.
WE NEED TO COMMUNICATE PROPERLY.

Chaos on the Kabbadi field

So this friday we had buddies and our task was to teach them the chariot game and help them out throughout it all. I really like my buddy, he always talks about the shows he likes and has such a creative imagination. We bond over things like the ninja turtles, icarly, and also other things like that. We got to catch up with out buddies and what we did on spring break and my buddy did the same exact thing as me, watch tv and well play outside.
On our chariot we had my buddy and I, Ruth and her buddy, and also Gurkirat. We let the buddies take turns on being the charioteers, however I think both preferred to be the horse and steal pinnies away from the other chariots, for the start of the game I felt like i was being dragged along because they were so eager to steal pinnies. We used communications like "RUNNN" and also keeping the charioteer towards the fences of the field, I think that even though it was a fast paced game and that our team collected like 7 pinnies the whole game it was a bit hard for Ruth and I. It was hard because the buddies  sometimes didn't listen or we felt so over protective of our chariot when teams came at us we wanted to go to an open spot that our buddies didn't necessarily see but we couldn't exactly drag them along, so it resulted in our pinnies being taken. I think that towards the end of the game Ruth and I had put it aside and just let our buddies do all the directing, it was still a good time.
Walking back I had asked my buddy what things we could do to keep the pinnies and take more and he suggested things like running the full circle so we can take all pinnies as we pass by.
This game helped me learn that it is sometimes difficult to control things, and that we shouldn't control things all the time, things take patience. I also think that the buddies and our class have learned teamwork, and also moving at other peoples paces rather than moving at your own speed.

Chariots

So I know I forgot to blog about it, but I am doing it now. So when John had introduced the game, it seemed like it was going to be difficult, and confusing how ever very action packed. We did the warm ups and tested the team work aspect, on my chariot was Grace, Maddie, and Monish and also Avani joined later on. Throughout the warm up we had tried to stay synchronized and it was difficult at first but later on got better.

So the first trial began and we used the strategy which was keep the charioteer who had the pinnies against the wall, and when teams came closer we would sprint to the the other side of the gym. We didn't come up with a good strategy to pull pinnies we just wanted to stay in the game for as long as we could. Successfully the first round we got 2 pinnies and I think only had to ever change charioteers once. So far our strategy was working. We sat down and made a more defined set of rules for this trial of the game like no passing the rope, and no savagely jumping and attacking one another, with this we found it was a more controlled environment and we stayed in the game longer, but also took more pinnies, the game had started working more efficiently. For the third time around two members of the chariots went blind folded, (Maddie and I) instead of running we walked, but this time you really have to focus on team work. I think our team did really well because we still were able to protect the charioteer but also turn and move using words like left, right, spring forward, turn clockwise etc.
I really liked this game, and I think John did a great job of incorporating teamwork skills but also finding a fun way to still let us be as hectic as we usually are.

Sprranng Breakk

For the first week of spring break I have been completely unmotivated to do anything what so ever. With some bad news that came in about my grandpas passing and the known fact that i would have a whole two weeks without as many responsibilities as I would usually have it made for well a rather lazy unproductive first week. In the. back of my mind I wanted to go out and get fresh air and go for a run, but it was so hard to get out of my comfortable bed that i left for like 6-7 hours on school days, I would literally stay up til the early morning and then sleep til 1:30pm. I was basically like this the whole time
I realized with the second week closing in   that i needed to be more productive, since it was just my siblings and I for the rest of the break. I did homework so i didn't stress on Sunday night especially with a concert i had that day. I started getting up earlier, and taking on more of my responsibilities. However with my exercise and healthy choices it improved too; When the sibs and I went grocery shopping i made a more health conscious choice to what i picked to buy because considering all the bad foods I ate in the past week I needed it. I started drinking more tea, and eating oatmeal especially with the cold rainy weather. ( I actually like oatmeal) So eating got better and it wasn't too bad, for exercising On Monday I woke up for a run, and ran down 152nd, near the y, up 150th and back to my house. Tuesday afternoon I hit up our yoga/dance room to work on Choreography for dance and also do our usual dance routine we do during practice because we didn't get a chance to practice as a team during the break. I also did small workouts focusing on strengthening the back, and core one day, the next focused on legs and arms the alternating day. Was not motivated to do anything but convinced myself it would benefit me. I also was not motivated to take pics so here are very little ones whoops.
On the bottom picture I just tied my shoes and went for a run, and then on the bottom right it was me working my legs with a bit of cardio.

also took a time lapse  of me doing the normal stretch to start off, and also a video at the end of one of my workouts and me being sweaty. gross.

Wednesday, 25 February 2015

workin wednesdays.

So A lot of thinks have changed since the end of last terms, like classes, course work, competition, and a new member to our PE Day 1 fam.
we have recently had a student teacher help run the class, the past two classes I have been there he helped run class, and organized activities. We played lacrosse the first class, and thats when I learned that he was great at competing, and kept up to the "hyper" and sometimes intense energy of our class! I swear, I loved that class, and lacrosse is my calling. I have done a unit on lacrosse before and enjoyed it, playing it again made me just seriously go full out for that class with a few individuals like janel, kyle, and zauq!
The next class was when he ran and we played long ball, I have also played this game, and even though there were some  kinks in the game, he made things clearer and was great at equally giving teams trials at the game until we got the hang of it. The last class was today, were we played a guessing/ strategy game, tied in with flag football! I think this class is great and the organization and creativity put into the game was great!! the game between band kids was intense and you can tell we were into the game because we went into double OT

practices for dance have been intense, especially because we have back to back competitions THIS friday and Saturday. We had practice today, so on top of running a lot during gym, we did a super long warmup. We stretched like we usually did, and afterwards we did circuits, so we did four reps, but mainly focused on core, and leg strength. But we were not done yet, we did four sets of sprints, for cardio, and then afterwards did suicides, but instead of sprinting both ways you sprint to the line and then jog back, this is to help us change from easing into moves then going full out, and also reserving energy during the competition.

We got like 5 minutes to rest but while that happened we were playing around with a ball, and people kept trying to shoot it in the hoop. When kathleen had the ball i stole it, and then made a shot thinking i wasnt goin to make it because i haven't played in a long time, but it went in. #ballislife LOL

we then worked on our performance and facials, and also learned a bit of new choreography for our new piece.

Mid Term Reflection

how have you shown you are prepared and willing to participate in a variety of activities?  I come to class in full gym strip, and help set up and organize showing that I am really eager to participate with other people.
On what days have you participated to your best effort and why?  I remember one certain day that we were playing atomic volleyball and our team was really hyped up. It was a close game and we were really into it all. I remember all of us diving for the volleyball and cheering on our team and the opposing team and it was great. I gave my best effort in this, but during fitness days I give my best effort because I know that it counts for me, and this is a step to furthering my health.
What days have been a struggle for you and why? This past week has been a struggle because I have felt really sick, and I hate when it happens because it keeps me from going full out on activities, or even participate. These days have also been super stressful with everything wrapping up and heading into a new gear of practically no sleep, and school. But through all i have tried to maintain a positive attitude.

How do you contribute to the overall success of the class?
I contribute by helping set up and organize activities, just by stepping up when no one wants to and helping out. I also love encouraging people, because if everyone stopped to whine or slack off then the success of the class would not go well. Keeping myself in line is a big thing, because If i slacked off then people may think its ok to do it.
What kind of attitude do you bring and why? I come to class prepared, and ready to take on a challenge, and sure there are times when I absolutely do not want to do anything, but in the end I finish the day and class with an ultimately positive attitude
How do you interact with other students in our class? Well as soon as I am changed we usually find a way to group together, and we talk about class, or gym and what we are going to do. So I try to make connections outside of p.e. I also love encouraging and helping other students during gym or fitness. From time to time I interact with other students through my blog and their blog, commenting and other stuff.

Describe your participation during fitness days - have you been able to push yourself
physically?  This is definitely something that I have improved on. I always try, but lately with the positive and encouraging vibe from my peers I have been able to push myself, and get more comfortable with being uncomfortable. I have set the highest beep test for myself  this year, and taken more responsibility and self control to push myself past the mental state of "I NEED TO STOP" I have come to love fitness and breaking a sweat.
What types of fitness activities do you enjoy the most? I honestly dislike running activities, but I can't really do anything about it. That just prepares me to change my mind set from negative to a more positive one. I love activities that switch from cardio to something else like core or resistance. I also love activities like locomotion because those not only challenge you but sometimes allow you to stay in the comfort zone.
What fitness goals do you have for the rest of the year? Since I dislike running, I would like to get more comfortable with it, and be able to raise my cardiovascular endurance. I know that I am not comfortable with the idea of running or running itself, but I want to get comfortable with being uncomfortable. I would also like making a healthy life style more prominent in my everyday life.

What does "leadership" mean to you?
Well thi
s has been my second year in Mr. Neuf's class except this time we are the oldest and During PE this year, being the grade 10's. This is a huge time to part take in leadership and set an example to other kids, especially the young ones in our grade. The word leadership is to lead by example, and be humble and encouraging along the way. The word leadership doesn't imply cocky, and mean and "no you're doing it wrong" or putting yourself over other people, it's helping them and also yourself out. Leadership is showing people that a fun and productive environment, and helping others learn and improve.
Who are the best leaders in our class - why? I think our class in general has many leaders. I think a leader is someone who leads by example. In grade 10 I would say that leads by example Abhishek, especially during fitness because he encourages people to push like when he was running the hill run. I also think that Marcia is also a leader especially when it comes to positive attitude, and making connections over blogs and keeping herself up to date with blogs. I also think that Zauq is someone who leads by example because he is always very engaged in the games we play during p.e and keeps peers interested in the activity. In grade 9 I can see a lot of leaders already, all have great potential at being leaders some are just more quiet than others.  I see it from the main group of people always working, I know that the people who always help set up are Janelle, Shiraz, Avani, Ruth and Grace. There are also quite a few quiet girls who have potential too!
What improvements would you like to make in PE by the end of the year? I think I would like to improve on my blog quality, and my physical ability and what I am capable of. With the blog I need to comment more and post more, keep more in touch with the class.
What are you the most proud of so far? I am really proud of my progress in fitness, and learning things about my ability to push myself, but also am proud that I can work on leadership and finding new ways to solve problems in the games and activities we play. The overall mental development that p.e makes me proud, like pushing myself past my old limits, and also solving problems and kinks in the game.

From the 4 pillars of participation, social responsibility and contribution, healthy living, and my blog: i think i have done well and done and about:
24% in participation,
25% social responsibility and contribution,
23% out of healthy living
21% out  of blogs.
So overall a 93 percent.

The first picture on the left is of my last fitness testing results, and in the picture it shows how far I have pushed myself for everything. I think this reflects my participation well because it shows that I am willing to show up and push my past the normal.

The second photo to the left is a post about placing 1st in a dance competition, and I think this reflects my healthy living, I think this is because it shows that I don't just only do physical activity in gym but also out of it, and dance has changed my attitude toward fitness and healthy living this year!
The 3rd photo in the top row reflects the social responsibility if you read the post it is about running the class without a teacher! The first photo on the bottom row is the contribution to our class and i showed it by sowing comments on my peers blogs.

I took a walk

literally writing this while walking so hopefully i don't get killed. My legs are a little sore, but i have to walk to school everyday so I accepted the fact that i can't do anything about it. so it's ok. I ony really wanted to write this because passion pits "take a walk" came on and i thought it was pretty ironic. Heres a picture of my current view.

Triple threat

Today was the last fitness of the semester! Instead of doing fitness testing we did some training, which focused on minute intervals of core, cardio, and weight resistance.
In my group of 3 it was Erika and Baldeep which they weren't in our class, but they are really fun and motivating girls. I think I made a good choice, because we not only motivated eachother but distracted eachother with a little singing when it got down to the last 15 seconds so it took my mind of "im gonna give up" and just put my mind on im gonna sing this and nonchalantly struggle with this corr excercise. During fitness I saw this grade 8 or 9 watching for what to do, and I took this opportunity to push myself and show her that fitness can be fun, and even though u get sorr just push through it! Near the end i can tell she was tired so i smiled and sang a part of a song with her just to keep her mind off of it. After all that tiring work we stretched it out and even though i was all sweaty it felt refreshing to work hard.  All in all i loved this sem of p.e and it was a great note to end off the fitness with.
here is a picture we took right after we stopped the intense interval and sat down to stretch. We are sweaty and we may be smiling but we are close to tears because of our sore  bodies.
As I sit here in bed with my legs aching, i know better sore than sorry (;

Dance Updates

So our most recent competition was great. This was my first competition and I admit i was a bit nervous but when you're up there performing you get so into it! All the morning practices in the hub and after school practices paid off because Jr. team won first! It was a great experience and I definitely couldnt do it without my coaches and team mates.
here is a link to our performance!

Thursday

I haven't posted in a really long time and it sucks! Yestersay was choice and i decided to change it up and not play volleyball, but sadly since there was too many people at handball, it was looking like i was going to play volleyball. This was until myself and some of the other girls that didn't know what to do decided to go out on the field and play capture the flag!

I thought there was a teacher out there already but when i went outside everyone told me I was running the game. I decided to step up and organize the game! Thankfully i haf people like kat, shiraz, ruth, avani, and erica to help set up. After setting up, i set up teams and reminded everyone of the rules and told them that i expected them to be im self control, as the game started we didn't have any problems and was glad to know thay the 25 other individuals that played were all cooperating and fully engaged. The game took until there was 7 minutes left til we had to go inside. So i called everyone in and we decided that instead of another game tail tag would be great. For the last 7 minutes everyone was engaged and i had few individuals also help clean up, like shiraz, miggy, ruth  and a couple of the girls in our class. I loved how that class was self sufficient and thanks to everyone who helped out!
